All users are given the Member role site-wide. The Member role allows users to view Areas, Entities and Sections. However, the tables in the Documents tabs for these objects will list only the Documents the current user has permission to at least view.
With most firms, most users will be given only the Member role site-wide, and will be given additional roles locally. With the exception of Documents, Members can see all objects in the Navigation and by searching. This ensures that all Members, regardless of how few local roles they may have, are always able to navigate to the Entities or Documents where they have some local role and some work to perform.
