Here, all rows for Engagement Manager, Reviewer and Reader are not grey. This is because users with only these roles cannot have signed out active engagements.

The user who signed an item out can always sign it in again, so no row is included for sign in.

Signed-out documents cannot be deleted. To delete them, Site Managers or Managers have to first undo the sign-out, then delete them. Therefore it is a two-step process that should make it somewhat safer in this case.

Workflow state changes are not possible while documents are signed out, as they may prevent some users from signing in the item.
