Scheduled Tasks

The OpenEngagement DMS has a number of tasks that are scheduled to run daily at midnight. Users may notice the site slows down during this time.
On Local Solutions, this includes a database backup. The backup includes only the database itself, and not the files which are kept in External Storage. Firms should backup the entire DMS instance themselves regularly, so this backup should be redundant, but is included for additional security for users.
All other scheduled tasks run on both Local and Hosted Solutions. These include: catalogue re-indexes, error log rotation, automatic archiving of Documents, and database packs.
Local Solutions users may, if they wish, modify the scheduling of these tasks in the Windows control panel.
