Re-Indexing the Database

Re-indexing is not available on Hosted Solutions.
Re-indexing (or re-cataloging) the database is a technique that may be used to improve the performance of the site or to correct errors in the site, such as items not appearing properly in the navigation portlet or in searches.
In the ZMI, goto portal_catalog, and under the ‘Advanced’ tab, click Update Catalog.
Re-indexing the site is also done nightly as a scheduled task. This script may also be run manually at any time. To do this, through a web browser, log in an Administrator or Manager and enter the URL of the site followed by /reindexSites.
